Whispering Hills Kennels is nestled in the foothills above Scotts Mills, Oregon. We're about 40 minutes from Portland, and 30 minutes from Salem.
With more than 500 acres of training grounds, we provide our dogs with a variety of training scenarios and hunting experiences unparalleled by any other retriever training facility.
Our grounds include deep wooded forest areas - home to grouse, quail, and wild turkey. The dense cover provides an outstanding scent tracking experience for our dogs.
Open fields are planted with wheat and straw from Spring through Fall. The tall cover, together with a year-round fresh water creek running nearby, provides an ideal habitat for pheasant.
The New Whispering Hills KennelsConstruction is underway for our new kennel, training arena, and training field. The Pavilion A 3,800 square-foot covered arena for year-round obedience training, handling lessons for our obedience graduate's owners, and conformation work.
The North Pond has been expanded to provide big water for advanced gundog work. A second expansion is planned for late summer 2008.
The Upland Field We've logged and cleared a new training field that is specially graded with rolling topography. The area will be seeded in October with tall fescue and clover. Next summer, sections will also be planted with Indian corn. The upland field will provide challenging marking, tracking, lining, and casting scenarios for all levels of gundog work. It will promote our native pheasant and quail populations, and together with our ponds, will provide new habitat for waterfowl.
We are planning an invitational celebration and open house to mark the opening of the new kennel. A date for the event will be determined as soon as kennel occupancy can be accurately projected. Contact us if you are interested in more information.

Our ponds are a favorite attraction for
migrating ducks and Canadian geese, and they provide a limitless variety of
challenging waterfowl training scenarios.
